Sandy Vince- RN
Foot Care Specialist
Sandy has been a Registered Nurse for over 20 years in Simcoe County. For the majority of her career, she has been a visiting nurse and I have always loved working in the community.
With a passion for education and seeing a need in our great community for foot care, I decided to offer my services.
I have advanced training in foot care as well as specialty training in diabetic foot care.
Care and Safety
All tools used in foot care are steam sterilized in an autoclave as per guidelines set forth by Public Health Ontario and Infection Prevention and Control Canada. All tools are individually sealed and inspected.
COVID precautions are in place. Our nurse is COVID tested regularly as per Provincial Healthcare worker guidelines. Additionally, our nurse uses full Personal Protective Equipment when performing foot Care in addition to be tested for Covid-19 on a weekly basis.
What to Expect
All foot care services begin with a thorough examination and nursing assessment of your feet and past medical problems. This will include a health questionnaire. Given the complexity of foot health, it is often recommended we see clients every 4-8 weeks depending on your needs. This is extremely important if you have diabetes, vision problems or are unable to reach your feet.
After the assessment is completed we will provide you with a personalized plan of care and enter you into a foot care program to optimize your health and well-being and provide education as needed.
Our nurse is trained and can provide specialist care in many aspects of foot health. This includes corns, calluses, thick nails, ingrown toenails, fungal infections and diabetic foot care.
